Elon Musk says the feds tested him for a year after Joe Rogan’s podcast smoking session

Elon Musk had to undergo a year of federal drug testing after smoking marijuana in the Joe Rogan podcast.

Musk, the richest man in the world and one of the most influential figures in the world, appeared in the infamous Rogan podcast in 2018. The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX opened up to an intimate interview with Rogan, as most guests do. Musk and Rogan talked about various topics before a colorful UFC commentator introduced some weed into the situation. Most speculate that this was the first time Musk had tried devil’s lettuce.

Following his appearance on the Rogan podcast, Tesla’s shares fell about 9 percent after investors and shareholders witnessed Musk smoking with Rogan. It cost the company billions.

Earlier this week, Musk appeared on the “Full Send” podcast and revealed to the Nelk Boys that his smoking adventures on the Rogan podcast also led to a year of federal drug testing.

“I got a lot of slack because it’s still against federal law,” Musk said.

According to the billionaire investor, the government drug tested it on almost everything due to the federal contracts associated with SpaceX. It was just poor optics and Musk had to atone for his blunt behavior.

“SpaceX has contracts with the federal government, so our competitors were asking, ‘Why are you doing nothing? Look at him brazenly smoking pot in Joe Rogan’s podcast, Musk said.

“They tested me for drugs.”

Musk, which is now worth over $ 260 billion, recovered nicely from the incident. However, this only shows how a few moments in Rogan’s podcast can fall into hot water even for the richest man in the world. With 11 million listeners per episode, Rogan’s Spotify podcast has that reach.
