Fulham vs Liverpool Live! Rating, updates, how to watch, stream, video

Fulham will host Liverpool at Craven Cottage on Saturday as the new Premier League players will take a massive test in the opening weekend of the new season.

Cottagers Marco Silvy moved up to the second tier last season as their rivalry between the Premier League and the championship continues. This season, Fulham’s focus is on one thing: staying in the Premier League.

As for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, they were so close to winning the Premier League title for the second time in three years, but Manchester City had conquered them by that last day. But there was a new optimism around Anfield that they could become champions again.

Below is everything you need before Saturday’s Fulham vs Liverpool.

Fulham vs Liverpool Live Analysis! – Joe Prince-Wright at Craven Cottage

A few minutes to drive here. Will Fulham hold on?

GOALLLL! Mohamed Salah equalized for Liverpool. Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross misses Tim Ram and the ball bounces off Salah who hits the goal. What a game!

Fabio Carvalho, the teenage sensation who joined Liverpool from Fulham this summer, ends his volley. Cue relief among home fans.

GOALLLL! Fulham advance 2-1. Mitrovic takes a penalty after he was clearly fouled by Virgil van Dijk. Amazing scenes here at Craven Cottage. Fulham fans are in dreamland.

GOALLLL! Darwin Nunez with a bold move that enters by bending after the great work of Mohamed Salah on the right. Liverpool equalized. Play well and really at Craven Cottage.

NEAR! Salah places the ball across for Darwin Nunez, but his heel finish is saved. Fulham fans sat behind me: “It can’t go on!” But is it possible? Liverpool is getting quite frustrated.

POST OFFICE! How did that not happen !? USMNTTim Ream does a great job to retrieve the ball and glide forward, then Neeskens Kebano’s shot beats Alisson but hits the post and jumps away. So close to second place Fulham.

A peaceful start to the second half here at Craven Cottage. Fulham is sitting a bit deeper and Liverpool are trying to come out from the back.

Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott came in early in the second half for Liverpool. Thiago is slowly walking away injured.

HALF THE TIME: Fulham 1-0 Liverpool – Mitrovic’s head difference as Fulham really shook Liverpool here. The Reds have come close on several occasions, but Fulham deserves the lead entirely, and the new additions to Pereira and Palhinha are particularly impressive.

POST OFFICE! Luis Diaz hits the post with a beautiful effort, almost dodging a shot from an impossible angle. Liverpool so close to equalization.

It should be 1-1. Andy Robertson is on the back post and his ball across the goal barely passes the incoming Liverpool players. It’s a very good game.

GOALLLL! It was coming. Aleksandar Mitrovic returns home in the back post as he towers over Trent Alexander-Arnold to nod. Fulham absolutely deserves this lead. They have been perfect so far. The host fans at Craven Cottage have gone crazy!

UNIT! Harrison Reed’s shot is well blocked by Robertson, and Mitrovic nearly scored twice. Fulham is having a lot of fun here. Liverpool hasn’t moved yet.

Fulham fans are, say, “unhappy with the lead” in the first half. Joel Matip escaped with some questionable attacks. The hosts are still sticking.

NEAR! Fulham’s Pereira takes a free-kick but Tim Ream misses the target, and Joao Palhinh’s shot bounces off the goal. Very nice pressure from the hosts.

Luis Diaz has the ball in the net with a nice twisted finish… but Andy Robertson was offside in the preparation. Decent finish for Diaz and much better Liverpool.

Fulham is having a lot of fun here. Antonee Robinson flew to the left flank at every opportunity. Liverpool looks a little shaky. Home fans love it.

START: And immediately a very good chance for Fulham! Alexander-Arnold’s permission falls straight to Mitrovic, who takes a few strokes too many and then makes a harmless effort. Mitro looked a little unsure whether to hit it.

The teams are gone, it’s loud in Chatka and we’re all ready. Let’s go.

Hello and welcome to Craven Cottage! It’s a beautiful day on the banks of the River Thames. What an amazing place to start the first Saturday of the new season.

Fulham news, injuries, squad

Joe Bryan and Harry Wilson are barred from wrist and knee problems while new footballers Bernd Leno, Shane Duffy and Kevin Mbabu are on the bench while other new boys Joao Palhinha and Andres Pereira are starting. USMNT duo Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson start at Fulham.

Liverpool news, injuries, squad

Jurgen Klopp mixed things up throughout the pre-season, but we saw what was very close to his best starting line-up in a Community Shield win against Manchester City last weekend.

Liverpool play without Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones, Caoimhin Kelleher and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, while Kostas Tsimikas, Naby Keita and Ibrahim Konate shake off their blows. Alisson returns to the goal after missing most of his pre-season tummy problems.

Key threads

It has been a crazy ride for Fulham over the past five seasons, with two relegations and three promotions to the Premier League. Life at Craven Cottage is anything but boring. All their hopes are tied back to Aleksandar Mitrovic as the Serbian goal machine (in the second division at least) will be dotted with crosses and hopes to eventually become more prolific in the Premier League. Marco Silva has said openly that Fulham will not be making too many transfers this summer and that it will be a huge achievement to stay on his feet. Silva loves to strike back and needs a good season start to build positive vibes. A side note: Fulhamerica is still going strong and Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson will be playing key roles this season.

Liverpool have had a decent and relaxed off-season. They sold Sadio Mane in early summer but replaced him with club record holder Darwin Nunez who looks to be the next star at Anfield. And oh yes, they also managed to sign Mohamed Salah on a new long-term contract. Klopp’s side had some weird results in the preseason, but are warming up well for the new campaign, and important questions are how Nunez, Diaz, and Salah will get together as a striker trio, and how much gas like Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcanatar come out in the tank to re-earn all four trophies.
